CGRundertow FORTUNE STREET for Nintendo Wii Video Game Review

by Mike Tants on February 25, 2012

Fortune Street review.Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Fortune Street from Square Enix and Nintendo for the Nintendo Wii. Fortune Street is a combination of Nintendo’s Mario Party and the classic board game Monopoly. You roll the dice to move around the game board with the main objective being to accumulate wealth. Like Monopoly, you can buy properties. And you can also upgrade by investing money back into them. The first player to reach a given amount of wealth and return to the bank wins. The game also throws in a stock market, which has a profound effect on all of the transactions that happen in Fortune Street. If the market is up, your investments are going to yield positive returns. But a bad market can throw a wrench into your plans. In fact, while the game has a lot of complex elements, it also has a much simpler gameplay mode that streamlines the affair into a far more accessible experience. This video review features video gameplay footage of Fortune Street for the Nintendo Wii and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek. by Games Reporter on January 25, 2012

Calibur 11 Xbox 360 Vault review. Classic Game Room reviews the XBOX 360 VAULT case from Calibur 11 which is like armor plating for your newer generation Xbox 360 video game console. No longer fear finger prints or laser beams because you can enclose your Xbox 360 in a plastic coat of armor that looks stylish and moderately practical, even if it’s mostly just for show.

CGRundertow THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: SKYWARD SWORD for Nintendo Wii Video Game Review Part Two

by Mike Tants on December 12, 2011

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword from Nintendo for the Nintendo Wii. Skyward Sword is the eighth proper Zelda title released for a home console, which makes its freshness all the more impressive. It’s rare to play a game in which the controls actually immerse you into the game’s world, but that’s what MotionPlus does for Zelda. Sword fights are no longer routine exercises in obligatory button mashing. Each one is an event that requires attention, even strategy. But the most interesting thing about the game is its appearance. Skyward Sword is based on impressionism, an art style that blossomed in the 19th century. The whole idea is you’re not necessarily painting an object as much as you’re capturing light. This is exactly what Nintendo has accomplished with Skyward Sword. Objects looming in the distance are beautifully rendered in the impressionist style, but as you approach them, they slowly come into focus. Details emerge. The painting begins to move. This video review features video gameplay footage of the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Wii and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.
