Hacked Nintendo Wii Functionality

by Tony Maderson on January 5, 2012

This is a video showing the benefits of Software Modifying your Nintendo Wii Games console! And this is a LONNNNG needless description haha The Wii shown in the video is running on 4.2E firmware, however the softmod can now be run on ANY firmware to date pefectly well (current 4.3X). The only problem is with newer Wii consoles as they are unable to read ordinary DVD discs and hence cannot play backup discs. They still work with USB Loaders though :D The key features are as follows: Backup Disc Loading, Retro Console Emulation (from Atari to PS1!) Custom Menu Themes, Install Free Wiiware Titles, Install Custom IOS (cIOS), Enable Homebrew Channel To Run Custom Games/ Apps, Full Brick Protection and my personal favourite USB Game Loading! USB Game loading in my opinion is the greatest thing ever invented. This method allows you to plug in almost any USB device to the Wii, (USB Stick or HDD) and install games to it at will to play whenever you want without the need for a disc! The loading times are incredible and the game compatibility is pretty much 100% for all games! I run a 160GB HDD with 52 games installed on it, so i have plenty to choose from when i want to play :) HDDs of 2TB have also been confirmed working, that is a limitless amount of space! Memory sticks as small as 125MB can be used but only very few games are this small. The Homebrew Channel is a genius idea, it reads/ runs any custom made apllications designed for the Wii you can get apps for near enough

Nintendo Wii Games

by Tony Maderson on October 20, 2011

What you see here in this video is not my original intent. I did not intend on making a Wii collection video but rather a review of the Wii console. I took up almost an entire day just capturing footage from every one of my games for the purpose of my review. I sat down and wrote out the whole plan and script for the review and trashed it after I started to execute the review. I decided In the beginning I really wanted to do it and lost all desire to do so by the time it was time to really put it all together. So since I captured all this footage of my Wii games, I decided to salvage what I had already done and still make something out of it. In all seriousness console reviews have been way over done on You Tube especially the Wii whether they are good or not. Most of them not, but still. Everybody knows what the Wii is and what it looks like. You can find many many Wii collection videos on You Tube, but not many like this one. Instead of showing you what the case and instructions look like, I show you what the game looks like. After all the most important thing to a game console is it’s games and how they play. Not the box art. I don’t plan to switch to doing modern game reviews or even doing any other console reviews. I found what I ultimately wanted to do is share the greatness of the Nintendo Wii. Many gamers renounce the Wii’s existence mainly because of the last gen graphics, less than robust online experiences, gimmicky motion controls, the giant selection of

Let’s Play Spot (NES) With Nintendo Legend

by Games Mantra on October 6, 2011

NintendoLegend.com A Let’s Play video of the 8-bit NES video game Spot, a board game styled title based on the 7-up animated character. This vid strives to answer such questions as What does Eric sound like when he is recovering from a cold? Could “board game video game” possibly be the most boring genre to make a Let’s Play video of? And isn’t that a sweet new intro he’s using? Props to Andrew over at scurvydesign.com for that.

Classic Game Room – NINTENDO PINBALL for NES review

by Games Mantra on September 2, 2011

Nintendo Pinball video review. Classic Game Room reviews NINTENDO PINBALL for NES from 1983 for the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Given the age of this game it plays really well and actually feels like a fun pinball machine on the 8-bit NES game console! Play pinball on your NES with the simply titles “pinball” game cartridge. Even though Mario is in the game (found in a bonus stage) he doesn’t even get featured in the title, but Mario from Super Mario Bros. is on the game cartridge itself. This excellent pinball videogame for Nintendo NES is not one to be missed by old school video game pinball fans! NES Pinball video review shows Nintendo Pinball gameplay in HD action on NES
