Sony PSP Marketing AD: “All I want for Christmas is my PSP”

This video is an actual attempt by Sony to use viral marketing in order to get more people to buy the PSP. When the ad first came out on Youtube, there was no indication that the video was actually an ad. Presumably, Sony wanted us to think that “Cousin Pete” was actually some hip hop artist rapping about the PSP, in an attempt to appeal to all of the ‘gangsta’ kids, who are clearly their target audience. An admission that this was an ad can be found at www.alliwantforxmasisapsp.com The original video has since been deleted from the site and youtube, and Sony has posted a sort of pseudo-apology/admission for the trickery, which never actually admits that Sony has done anything wrong.
